Phase III: Post-Adoption

February 23rd, 2009

There is only one phase left in your adoption journey, and it is just as important as everything that preceded it:

  1. Post-Placement obligation
It is vitally important to follow through with the required post-placement reports. These reports are required by the foreign governments and are the only way the officials have of being assured of how the children are being cared for. Click here to see the post placement procedures.
  2. Provincial court recognition
Each Province has its own requirements for re-adoption. Check with your social worker or homestudy agency.
  3. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (click here for Canadian citizenship information)
This essential step ensures Canadian citizenship and entitles your child to all the rights of Canadian citizens.

  2. PHASE II: ADOPTION
  3. PHASE III: POST-ADOPTION
